45th Annual March for Life

January 16-21, 2018 defend the right to life of the unborn and visit holy and historical sites during a holy pilgrimage to Washington D.C. for the annual March for Life. March for Life is for high school youth. Those interested should contact their parish or high school to register. Hush Screening

St. Wenceslaus will show the documentary HUSH, an investigation into the medical risks of abortion. A panel of medical professionals will be available to answer questions afterward.

Walk for Life

In January, local youth make an annual pilgrimage to Lincoln for the Nebraska Walk for Life and Youth Summit. The event is open to students, grades 6 to 12. Walk for Life is sponsored by Nebraska Right to Life.

Pro-Life Essay Contest

Each year (January-March), the Archdiocese of Omaha hosts a Pro-Life Essay Contest for students, including a cash prize for each grade level (grades 7 to 11):

  • $40 first place prize and award certificate; essay published on Catholic Voice website
  • $30 second place prize and award certificate
  • $20 third place prize and award certificate

Students in grades 7 to 11 are eligible, including students enrolled in Catholic school, Catholic Home School students, students attending Religious Education classes and Catholic students attending public school.

All entries must be typed and proofread, no longer than 400 words and printed on only one side of the paper. 

Judging is based on the following criteria:

  • Understanding of the particular aspect of the pro-life message
  • Clarity in communicating the message
  • Creativity and originality

Boot Camp

Join us for speakers, education, prayer and Mass, activities, movies, food, T-Shirts and special pro-life events. This event is designed for youth, ages 14 to 19.

Pro-life leaders, priests, seminarians and other special guests will cover the following topics:

  • Understanding and defending the truths of the Catholic Faith
  • Planned Parenthood, prayer vigils and sidewalk counseling
  • Contraception
  • Theology of the Body
  • Project Rachel and other diocesan pro-life programs
  • Divine Mercy, Rosaries, Eucharistic Adoration, and Reconciliation

Special events:

  • Pray outside abortion mills
  • Hear testimonies from women facing abortion
  • Participate in the celebration of Mass
  • Share your experience with family members during closing dinner
