Pregnancy

Unplanned Pregnancy

When an unplanned pregnancy occurs, some families may not welcome the surprise. Even though they might not promote abortion directly, they communicate the message that the child is not wanted at this time. To be pro-life, we must celebrate every life as a gift – even if it wasn’t part of the plan.

Journey to Love

Journey to Love© is a peer ministry offering practical guidance and compassionate care focusing on the needs of expectant parents as they seek to honor the life of their baby, no matter how frail or how brief.

If you or someone you know has a poor prenatal diagnosis, the Center for Family Life Formation can provide resource materials, assistance with writing birth plans, birth support persons as requested and referrals to other community-based services and support groups. Resource topics include:

  • Mourning the loss of an infant
  • Maintaining hope when a prognosis is poor
  • Medical decision-making during pregnancy and beyond
  • Stillbirth
  • Neonatal critical care

Interested in joining the Journey to Love team?

We need peer ministers and volunteers to create a community of care around parents following a poor prenatal diagnosis. We provide many different services and individualize to what each family needs, easing emotional suffering and feelings of isolation experienced by families with a poor prenatal diagnosis.

Rachel's Vineyard is a safe place to renew, rebuild and redeem hearts broken by abortion. Weekend retreats offer you a supportive, confidential and non-judgmental environment where women and men can express, release and reconcile painful post-abortive emotions to begin the process of restoration, renewal and healing.

Rachel's Vineyard can help you find your inner voice. It can help you experience God's love and compassion on a profound level. It creates a place where men and women can share, often for the first time, their deepest feelings about abortion. You are allowed to dismantle troubling secrets in an environment of emotional and spiritual safety.

Rachel's Vineyard is therapy for the soul. Participants, who have been trapped in anger toward themselves or others, experience forgiveness. Peace is found. Lives are restored. A sense of hope and meaning for the future is finally re-discovered.

Healing the pain of abortion – one weekend at a time.

Disabilities

All people have God-given gifts to offer their Church that may not always be recognized because of physical or perceptual obstacles. To encourage full participation in parish life, resources are offered to parishes to assist with addressing disability concerns such as accessibility, education and support. The Center for Family Life Formation collaborates with parish staff to address needs of parishioners across the lifespan and offers support directly to individuals and families who are seeking services to assist them in participating more fully in the ministries of the Center and the life of the Church.
