The Center for Family Life Formation provides marriage enrichment opportunities throughout the calendar year. The fall marriage celebrations are a time when couples attend a Mass of thanksgiving celebrating their anniversaries with Archbishop Lucas at St. Cecilia’s Cathedral in Omaha and St. Mary’s in Norfolk. Couples renew their vows and commitment to their vocation and sacrament of Matrimony.
The February marriage enrichments events are a particular offering during a month when married couples are looking for a way to spend time together because of Valentine's Day. The hope is that the February events, like all marriage enrichment events, will enhance a couples’ marital intimacy and lead to stronger communication and prayer and that the fruit of their love will be so abundant that it becomes infectious and draws others into the very depth of their love. In this way, the love we express can be a sign and a path for others to draw near to God.
Archbishop George J. Lucas invites you to attend the annual Mass honoring marriage and your anniversary. This event honors couples celebrating 5, 25, 40, 50, 55, 60 or more years of marriage. September 10th, 2017 in Omaha and October 8th, 2017 in Norfolk.
Sponsored by the Center for Family Life Formation.
Married couples spend a weekend together, away from the distractions and tensions of everyday life, to concentrate on each other. Worldwide Marriage Encounter is not a retreat or a marriage clinic – it is a unique approach aimed at revitalizing Christian marriages.
Worldwide Marriage Encounter emphasizes the importance of communication in a marriage, providing couples a chance to look deeply into their relationship with each other and with God. Couples will attend a series of presentations given by a team of Catholic couples and a priest. After the presentations, couples will have time to privately discuss and reflect.
